Key College, Redfern (Year 10) where education breaks the cycle of disadvantage.
Key College opened in 1996 and offers an inclusive and non-discriminating learning community for young students who come from a variety of language, cultural and religious backgrounds, with particular sensitivity to young people from backgrounds of socio-economic disadvantage. Students are provided with a stable environment to help overcome these barriers. This environment helps to create a positive and healthy lifestyle, with the support and motivation to be eligible for their Record of School Achievement (RoSA).
The school environment is considerably different to that of a mainstream high school. There is one main classroom where students are engaged in highly individualised and integrated programs. These learning experiences build self-confidence and self-esteem in our students, promote an optimistic view of their potential and assist them to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to enjoy a healthy and fulfilling life.
