Alcohol & other drugs
We work with children and young people and their families to break the cycle of substance use, set personal goals and build the foundations for a healthy life.

Our Dunlea Alcohol and Other Drugs Youth Service helps young people aged 12 to 24 who live in Blacktown, Cumberland, Parramatta and the Hills District to take control of their substance use.
What we offer
- A comprehensive initial assessment
- Casework support that meets the individual needs of young people and helps them set achievable goals
- Family casework to provide family members with strategies to support their young person and restore relationships
- A psychoeducation program to teach people about alcohol and other drugs, and the effects on their mental health, behaviours and wellbeing. The program helps individuals understand substance use, addiction and recovery so they can make informed choices and develop healthier habits
- SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) Recovery, a science-based, peer-supported program that helps individuals overcome addiction and problematic behaviours. The groups provides practical tools based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support long-term recovery
