Independent high schools

Not all children and young people thrive in mainstream schools. Our registered and accredited independent high schools offer a flexible alternative for students in Years 9–12.

We operate six independent high schools that are registered and accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). Youth Off The Streets is also a member of the Association of Independent Schools of NSW (AISNSW) and a Child Safe organisation.

What we offer

  • Learning programs for Years 9–12 that comply with NESA and Australian curriculum mandatory course requirements
  • A flexible approach to learning that responds to the specific needs, interests and talents of students
  • Wellbeing initiatives, as well as psychology and counselling services
  • Highly skilled teaching staff with a passion for supporting students to achieve their best
  • Student Support Youth Workers who offer practical and emotional guidance and support
  • Service learning opportunities that strengthen students’ connection to the community, build self-esteem and a sense of pride in ‘giving back’
  • Years 11–12 at Craig Davis College, EDEN College and Chapel School – Step Up program, providing students with a supportive environment in which to complete their senior studies, and with individual learning plans tailored to each student’s own education pathway and life circumstances 
  • The SOLAR program, which offers a combination of face-to-face and online learning
