Youth support services

Every young person we support at Youth Off The Streets is on a journey to realise their potential. When you build trust, walk alongside them towards their goals and support them to be safe, connected and engaged, you help create the environment they need to thrive.

Beyond the meaningful work of your everyday role, we offer:

  • Work environment: We’ve built an organisation that prioritises safety, collaboration and emotional wellbeing – for young people and for you. Being part of a trauma-informed workplace and team means you don’t have to carry the load alone.
  • Compensation and benefits: Supporting young people deserves to be rewarded. We pair competitive salaries and salary packaging with additional leave, including gifted holiday leave for eligible employees.
  • Balance: Working with vulnerable young people can be demanding. We’ve put structures in place so you can maintain balance. We’re deliberate about caseloads, clear about boundaries and respectful of your time outside work.

Education and training services

Every young person at Youth Off The Streets deserves an education that unlocks their potential. When you adapt your teaching to meet complex needs, listen to students who haven’t been heard and support them to achieve their goals – you create the conditions for them to thrive.

Beyond the meaningful work of your everyday role, we offer:

  • Work environment: We know teaching young people with complex needs requires comprehensive support. Our schools combine educators with student support youth workers, psychologists, counsellors and admin staff – a wraparound model that delivers flexible and sustainable support for every student.
  • Growth and recognition: At Youth Off The Streets, we empower our frontline Education and training teams to excel by investing in their professional growth. This means structured learning programs, dedicated time for administrative work and recognition of excellence.
  • Culture: Our special assistance schools differ from mainstream education for both students and team members. We pride ourselves on a positive and inclusive culture that values staff who want to create more meaningful impact for young people who need it the most.

For over 30 years, our special assistance schools have attracted educators who want their careers to have real meaning. We have a proud legacy of education that defines young people by their potential, not their circumstances.

As part of Australia’s leading youth services organisation, our schools are never limited to classrooms. If a student needs housing support, counselling or youth justice support, they can access it within Youth Off The Streets. We’ve built the wraparound infrastructure that addresses everything else, so young people and teachers can focus on education.
