Domestic, family & sexual violence
We provide specialist domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) support to students at our seven high schools and we empower youth sector professionals to respond to DFSV disclosures with confidence, care and expertise.
Where Youth Off The Streets offers domestic, family & sexual violence (DFSV) support
Locations: NSW alternative high schools – Blue Haven, Macquarie Fields, Maitland, Maroubra, Merrylands, Redfern, Wollongong.
Our youth sector DFSV training program, Taking Action Creating Change Together (TACCT), is offered in-person at our corporate office in Alexandria, NSW or online.
Support for Youth Off The Streets students
Youth Off The Streets supports students affected by DFSV across our seven alternative high schools through specialist casework, safety planning and targeted support. Our youth-specific DFSV education program, Power Within, is delivered to students at every school.
Support for youth sector professionals
Through TACCT, Youth Off The Streets delivers specialist training that builds the capacity of educators, youth workers, counsellors, health practitioners and other frontline professionals to identify and respond to children and young people impacted by DFSV.
Participants learn how to recognise signs of abuse, respond to disclosures in a trauma-informed way, meet their safeguarding responsibilities and facilitate access to appropriate support services.
