Student placements at Youth Off The Streets
At Youth Off The Streets, we actively support student placements that provide practical, real‑world learning – helping students develop the knowledge, skills and insights essential for social work, community and human services practice.
Youth Off The Streets provides diverse student placement opportunities across our schools and community services. We work closely with students at varying stages of their studies, supporting different placement hour requirements across fields such as social work, youth work, community services, education, psychology, counselling and related areas.

Various locations
We receive a high volume of placement enquiries. Placements are offered at the discretion of our program and school managers based on current team capacity, program fit and the specific requirements of your placement. Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee a placement offer.
How to enquire
There are two pathways – chooose whichever applies to you.
I’m a student
If you’re looking for a placement and would like to enquire directly, complete our student expression form. Your response will be reviewed by the relevant managers.
I’m a university or TAFE superivsor
If you’re a field education coordinator or placement supervisor enquiring on behalf of a student, please complete our supervisor enquiry form.
We ask that students also complete their own expression of interest separately, even if a supervisor has already submitted on their behalf.
Before you apply
Please note that all placement students at Youth Off The Streets are required to hold:
- A valid NSW Working With Children Check (NSW) or Blue Card (QLD)
- A National Police Check – this is completed with our trusted provider during onboarding. It is free. We do not accept police checks completed through external providers.
- Proof of insurance coverage from the education provider.
What happens next
Due to the volume of enquiries we receive, we are only able to contact applicants whose enquiries we are able to progress. If you do not hear from us within three weeks of submitting your form, your enquiry has been recevied and considered but we are unable to offer a placement in this intake.
