Rise College, Maitland

Established in 2026, Rise College is Youth Off The Streets’ newest school. Together with students, we must rise to the challenge of creating a future in which every young person can realise their full potential.

Established in 2026, Rise College is a newly registered and accredited independent specialist school supporting young people in Year 9 and Year 10.

Our dedicated team of educators is committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to work towards their Record of School Achievement (RoSA), Higher School Certificate (HSC) or to successfully transition into further education, training or employment.

As a Special Assistance School, Rise College takes pride in its innovative and student-centred approach. We empower young people who have previously struggled to find their place in traditional educational settings by offering a renewed opportunity to thrive. This is achieved through small classroom sizes, community service learning, offsite practical activities, highly individualised and modified learning plans, and participation in The Duke of Edinburgh Award.

We are now enrolling Year 9 and Year 10 students to commence in Term 2, 2026. For more information, please contact us on 0479 195 114.

Student wellbeing is a core priority at Rise College. In addition to the guidance provided by the school manager and teaching staff, students are holistically supported by a multidisciplinary team comprising a full-time school counsellor and a student support youth worker.

The name Rise College reflects both our aspiration and our responsibility. It speaks to the outcome we aspire to for every young person at Youth Off The Streets’ schools and serves as a reminder that each student’s wellbeing is a shared commitment – between families, educators and the broader community.

From little things: Expanding our youth services in the Hunter region

Over the years, our positive impact on young people and communities in the Hunter has grown. In mid-2026, we’re bringing our unique education model to the region.

Delivering the Duke of Edinburgh across our schools

“We have really high expectations [of students] – I’ve found the young people just step up to the challenge,” says Jenny Dowley, Teacher and Sports Coordinator.
