Giving Day

On Thursday 6 August 2026, you can double your impact on the lives of children and young people without a safe place to call home.

This Giving Day, every minute counts.

Right now, many are navigating crisis alone, without safety support or stability. For a young person in crisis, there’s no time to wait. No time to find somewhere safe. No time to ask for help.

Thanks to supporters like you, young people experiencing homelessness have found safety, support and a way forward.

Since our first Giving Day, our community has helped raise nearly $700,000 for children and young people facing homelessness. It’s a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we work together.

Young people and a Youth Off The Streets employee partnering together to make a better future.

Across Australia, 11,900 children and young people need specialist homelessness services every day – and that number is growing.

Children and young people can be forced to leave unsafe homes at a moment’s notice – often with nothing and nowhere to go. Without guidance and specialist support, they can quickly fall through the gaps and deeper into crisis.

Every day without support puts them at greater risk.

When help comes early, everything can change. At Youth Off The Streets, we meet young people where they are and walk alongside them every step of the way.

Every moment matters – a call answered, a safe place to stay, a meal, a conversation, a plan for what comes next.

These moments build trust, create safety and open pathways forward.

Facing violence at home, Ryan stayed out late each night to keep his family safe.

Through outreach, he found not only support, but a community he could rely on when things felt overwhelming. With practical help and ongoing care, he was able to finish school and begin building a brighter future.

Growing up without consistent parental support, Jenny faced early substance use and disengagement from school.

With long-term support through Youth Off The Streets, she was able to turn things around – returning to education, completing Year 12 and continuing her studies.

Without a stable place to live, Georgia moved between couches and struggled to stay in school.

With safe accommodation and ongoing support, she was able to build independence, re-engage with her future and begin studying to become a nurse.

This National Homelessness Week, will you help us reach more young people in crisis?

For 24 hours only, every donation will be matched – turning our goal of $350,000 into $700,000, doubling the support for children and young people who need it most.

It’s the only time this year your gift will be matched, dollar for dollar.

Every donation ensures our expert staff can respond when it matters most – so young people don’t have to spend another minute alone or unsafe.

Together, we can be there for young people when they need it most. Together, we can show them they are not alone.

Donate today and double your impact.

Because every minute matters. And together, we can help young people move from crisis to care.

Giving Day 2026 – 3 ways to get involved

Donate

This year, we’re aiming to raise $700,000 – including $350,000 in matched gifts and $350,000 in individual donations.

Every dollar raised will go directly towards supporting children and young people facing homelessness and disadvantage – funding the essential, life-changing services they rely on every day. With matched giving doubling the power of each donation, we have a unique opportunity to reach further, support more young people, and create lasting change together.

Volunteer

As a Giving Day volunteer, you’ll play a key role in connecting with our community – making phone calls and helping inspire support on the day. We’ll set you up for success with scripts, contact lists, and refreshments to keep you going.

It’s a rewarding way to come together as a team and make a real difference for the young people we support.

To register as a Giving Day volunteer, sign up to Rosterfy, our volunteering portal.

Become a matching partner

By becoming a matched giver, you’ll join a committed community helping transform the lives of children and young people, moving them from homelessness to safety and care.

All contributions to the matched giving pool are tax-deductible. Please pledge by 30 July so we can promote this opportunity to our community of supporters.

This is a great opportunity to show you care about youth homelessness and to help children and young people build a positive future.

A big thank you to our Matching Partners in 2026
