This Christmas, your gift could change a life
This Christmas, your gift can change a life
Mia’s* childhood was overshadowed by emotional abuse. After her family relationships broke down, she became homeless and was forced to couch surf for seven months.
“I lost a lot of my friends when I was homeless. At first, they felt bad about asking me to leave and worried about where I was going to end up next. Eventually they stopped asking me and were just glad I was gone.”
Without safety, support or the guidance of caring adults, Mia ended up on the streets.
Then she met a Youth Off The Streets youth worker who connected her with our crisis accommodation service.
“I was amazed at how much everyone cared – that people could be so kind to someone they didn’t know.”
Youth Off The Streets has since supported Mia to improve her mental health, secure a stable home and study a Bachelor of Psychology at university.
Mia is proof that we can change young lives for the better. With your help, we can give other kids the support they need over Christmas and beyond to a future they can finally feel hopeful about.

Thank you for making a difference
As Youth Off The Streets’ Founder, Father Chris Riley, once said: “I am proud that we are an organisation that will never give up. We will never stop advocating for youth and we will never stop offering our nation’s most vulnerable the chance for a brighter future.” Thank you for helping young Australians recover from trauma, break the cycle of disadvantage, and build a better future for themselves.
Other ways to give
