All children and young people have a right to feel safe, and to be safe at all times.  At Youth Off The Streets the welfare of children and young people in our care will always be our first priority.  Our focus is to engage with and support young people with services that are child safe and child friendly.

Youth Off The Streets has a zero – tolerance approach to discrimination and child abuse.  Youth Off The Streets is committed to provide a culturally safe and inclusive organisational environment for all children and young people. This includes respecting and protecting;

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s sense of self and identity
  • People from non – English speaking backgrounds
  • People from diverse racial, religious or cultural backgrounds
  • People with disabilities
  • Gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, queer or intersex people.

Youth Off The Streets supports the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations as endorsed by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG).  Youth Off The Streets has specific policies and procedures that our Board, Executive, staff, contractors, students and volunteers must follow to prevent harm to the vulnerable young people who engage with our services.
