On Friday night we held our Annual Presentation Night at Bankstown Sports Club to celebrate the incredible achievements of our young people in 2019. It was a great night to recognise just how far our young people have come in the last year. We were lucky enough to have David Koch as Master of Ceremonies, who helped us recognise the success of our young people throughout 2019.
Awards were given out to young people who are or have been associated with our programs for achievements such as school results, obtaining employment, sporting achievements, reunion with family, and maintaining an alcohol and other drug free lifestyle.
There was also a range of fantastic entertainment on the night including Aboriginal dancers, singers, the drum beats group from Merrylands outreach and the Island Breeze group from the Koch Centre.
The final award of the evening was the major award, the Judy Gorton award, named after a pioneer member of Youth Off The Streets. The award was given to a student from Chapel School for all their hard work and success this year.
At Youth Off The Streets we are proud to continue supporting young people to transform their lives. It is incredible what they may achieve when someone believes in them. We look forward to seeing what the coming year will bring for our young people.
A big thank you to everyone that came out to help us celebrate and to Bankstown Sports Club for their ongoing support and for hosting the event!
