Last Saturday night we held our annual Youth Off The Streets Gala Dinner at The Westin Sydney. It was an amazing and successful night raising funds and awareness for our vulnerable young people.
The night featured special guests and talent including our MC David Koch, host of the morning show Sunrise. The night began with a welcome to country and smoking ceremony performed by uncle Dean.
A jam packed night full of entertainment then followed. Such performances included String Diva performing their own interpretation on a few classics, a dance performance from dance instructors at Arthur Murray Studio ,Stephanie Wigens and Martin Lordon and our very own Finnian Johnson singer/songwriter and 2018 winner of Coca Cola’s ‘Battle of the Young Stars’. To conclude the night the John Field Band performed some classic sing a long numbers and got guests up and onto the dance floor.
Among the entertainment there were also opportunities for us to showcase the life changing work we do with disadvantaged young people. Lex Lutherburrow, Deputy CEO of Youth Off The Streets, thanked everyone for their generous support.
“Nights like these are crucial for us,” said Lex. “The reality is homelessness rates are increasing and they have been since Father founded Youth Off The Streets so we need to always be looking for new initiatives and ways we can provide support for young people. However, we wouldn’t be able to continue running these initiatives without your generous support.”
We also had a bunch of amazing prizes up for grabs resulting in lots of successful fundraising through silent auctions, bids, and raffles. The raffle for the slick Harley Davidson 2019 street 500 was also drawn on the night and you can find out the results here.
Thanks to everyone who came to our Gala Dinner for all of your kindness, generosity and support! We look forward to seeing you next year!
