In Anton’s fifth Sydney to Surfers bike ride he was the second leading fundraiser at the event raising over $7,500 for Youth Off The Streets. Anton, along with over 130 riders and support staff, travelled a huge 950km over seven days averaging 140km per day.
Anton said he owes his inspiration to both the challenge and the cause.
“My decision to join the bike ride five years ago and to continue doing it every year was a combination of two things,” said Anton. “Firstly, I love the challenge and secondly because I believe in the cause. The work that Youth Off The Streets do is just too important to ignore. ”
Anton explained that the comradery was one of his favourite parts of the ride along with meeting and supporting the kids throughout the ride and at the campsites.
“It’s so great to see the transformation that the kids make over the week. It just goes to show the dedication of the teams that work with them all year. I felt the transformations after just a week so I can only imagine what these kids can achieve with the support of Youth Off The Streets over a year or two.”
Anton has done an amazing job at advocating for the work we do at Youth Off The Streets as he manages to raise large amounts of money each year he participates.
“I’d like to thank everyone that donated for their generosity and for supporting both Youth Off The Streets and me along my ride.”
The Sydney to Surfers bike ride is always an amazing event and we look forward to having more passionate riders like Anton joining us for next year’s ride!
