On Wednesday 11 July we held our second Take It To The Streets Festival at Parry Park in Lakemba. The event was organised by our Cultural Support team as a way to provide young people in the area with fun activities and access to relevant services.
Our event was held during school holidays to make sure local young people could get amongst the activities, games and food and take advantage of the great event we held.
People of all ages enjoyed our activities; particularly bubble soccer, archery tag and bingo. We were lucky to have our Youth Initiative Team hosting the event and a variety of singers, dancers and performers entertaining us on the day.
The silent disco made another smash appearance, with great music playing (quietly) into the night for our attendees to dance to.
It’s great to see so many young people and their families come together for such a great event that we are excited to bring to the community. At Youth Off The Streets we believe that bringing people and in particular young people closer with their community is key to building strong and lasting relationships.
We would like to thank everyone that attended and all those that provided stalls, food and entertainment on the day. We look forward to seeing you at Take It To The Streets 3!
