Applications for the Youth Off The Streets Scholarship Program have officially opened. The program offers a chance for disadvantaged young people to achieve their dreams.
Nominations for the annual national Scholarship Program are open to young people across Australia and will close at 4pm on 20 April 2018.
The initiative was developed by Father Chris Riley, and celebrates the gifts and strengths of young people from the Australian community who exhibit promise but who lack the personal support networks and resources that will allow them to fulfil their potential.
Over 20 young people from throughout Australia will be awarded a scholarship this year, which includes financial support of $6,000 that will go towards resources to help them further their education or training in their area of interest.
Along with financial assistance, Youth Off The Streets will match each scholarship recipient with a mentor for the duration of their scholarship, who will provide support and guidance to help them to achieve the goals set out a pathway plan created with the team.
Since the programs beginnings, our organisation has supported over 283 talented young people from all over Australia to reach their educational and development goals.
Father Riley’s vision of the Scholarship Program is to bring together combined resources, encourage corporate social responsibility and engage the community to take responsibility for young people who have become disconnected or are at risk of becoming marginalised.
Nominations must be made by a young person themselves, however they are encouraged to seek assistance in doing so. To find out more and help a young person from your local area realise their dreams, visit the Youth Off The Streets website at http://youthoffthestreets.com.au/scholarshipprogram.
