Convoy of Courage, From Cowra to Wellington

September 6, 2017

The Convoy of Courage continues its journey northwards stopping in both Cowra and Wellington to show off our new Mobile Youth Centre.

Yesterday (Tuesday, 5 September 2017), the convoy had a short stop in Cowra for a BBQ lunch provided by Cowra Rotary Club as well as a quick chat with the local community. Mayor Bill West attended the gathering, as our Director of Aboriginal Services spoke of how Youth Off The Streets can benefit the local area and community.

Following their stop at Cowra, the Convoy left to make its way to Wellington, where they arrived to a great turnout of local kids and community members.  Our youth workers were quick to set up some games for the kids such as giant Jenga, Connect 4, footy, video games as well as some music. Youth Off The Streets held a BBQ dinner for the local kids and community to wrap up the night.

The following morning, the Mobile Youth Centre was set up and opened at Wellington Library Carpark where local school kids joined us for a BBQ morning tea with more games and activities.

Today, the convoy is making its way to Dubbo to continue the journey.
