Mentoring Information
  Volunteer Application Form
We are fortunate to have a full complement of volunteers and at this stage there are no new volunteer engagement opportunities available, other than for Mentors, as detailed below. To avoid delays and disappointment, we will temporarily close our books for new general volunteer applications - until further notice. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Youth Off The Streets. We will advise via this website when new opportunities become available.

Applications for Mentors Are Now Open

Our mentoring program organises relationships between young people and caring individuals who offer guidance, support and encouragement so that the “mentee” develops their character, confidence and competencies. We are looking for mentors from all walks of life to join our program for 2010. Becoming a mentor involves a significant commitment of time – around 2-3 hours per fortnight – and volunteers need to be able to commit to a long-term relationship of 12 months. Mentors will also need to commit to an interview and evaluation for suitability and undergo training for the program.

Mentoring is a rewarding program for both mentor and mentee. For more information please see the attached Mentoring Program with Youth Off The Streets or speak to our Mentoring Facilitator, Ngapera Paki on 02 9721 5707.

All new volunteers must consent to a Working With Young Children Check and/or an Australian Federal Police Check under the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1988.

All of our volunteers must be at least 21 years of age. Anyone under the age of 21 who is looking for volunteering opportunities should go to www.volunteering.com.au for information.

To note your interest please complete in full the Volunteer Application Form 2010 and return to:
