Communications Manager
Mascot - Immediate start

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and experienced Communications and Marketing Manager to join Youth Off The Streets to implement and coordinate the organisations communications strategy, both internally and externally.
        
You will work with the CEO and managers to facilitate external media messages, identify promotional opportunities to build market awareness of YOTS programs and initiatives and provide technical advice and support in areas such as advertising, employee communications and public relations. You will create, implement and oversee communications programs, strategies and policies.

To succeed in this role you will have: 

  • Tertiary qualified in communications or a related field
  • Professional and technical public relations expertise
  • Several years experience in developing messages for a variety of stakeholders in a fast paced environment preferably with a strong focus on not for profit
  • Confidence in dealing with members of the media and Government bodies at all levels
  • Excellent prioritising skills.
  • Staff supervision experience
  • Experience in reporting to a Board
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: - You will be writing media releases, content for the website and intranet, and general communications.
  • Ability to think strategically and laterally in order to maximise the impact of limited marketing resources
  • Able to work with and relate to a broad range of stakeholders, including industry colleagues, suppliers, volunteers, donors, sponsors and other supporters.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office 

Whilst there is a small team, you must have hands approach to role and be creative and innovative, preferably with a background in non-profit.

You will be the first point of contact for all enquiries to the Southern Highlands Residential for Youth off the Streets. You will need to have 2 years experience in providing admin support in a busy office to the Manager and staff where attention to detail and confidentiality is paramount.

Your telephone manner, Microsoft, Excel and Outlook skills will be advanced and you will have excellent organisation ability, high work ethic and good communication skills.

You will be required to:

  • Maintain appropriate referral statistics, administrative records and reports.
  • Assist in planning and organising activities.
  • Provide clerical and technical assistance to administration.
  • Maintain a variety of client records and files.
  • Manage petty cash, banking and mail.

Driver and Furniture Removal (1 day per week, Friday)

One way we provide assistance to our clients is through the donations of goods that are sold through our Op Shops located throughout NSW.

We need to ensure the donations of bric-a-brac and furniture are collected and taken to our stores and for that we need a driver / off-sider.

You will need to have a valid NSW driver’s license and be able to lift and carry a range of light to heavy items.

You will have experience in furniture removal and can demonstrate experience in:

  • Correctly loading and securing of items.
  • Driving and Truck maintenance.
  • Excellent  customer service skills.

Case Worker - Southern Highlands Treatment Services

Youth off the Streets is mission is to help disconnected young people to discover greatness within, by engaging, supporting and providing opportunities to encourage and facilitate positive life choices.

We are seeking a highly competent and professional person with the ability to develop and manage case reviews for our young people.

You will be expected to:

  • Oversee all elements of case planning including: intake procedures; assessment of needs; planning and coordination of support services; monitoring and review of plans in close consultation with a multi disciplinary team, including clinical staff and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with clients and their families where appropriate, to ensure either successful reunification or reintegration of the young person into a safe and stable living situation.
  • Assist young people with moving in care, leaving care and after care

Essential Requirements: 

  • Qualifications in social sciences/child and adolescent welfare or related field.
  • Experience working in a therapeutic environment
  • Ability to work from a strengths based perspect with our young people.
  • Sensitivity to young adolesents from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the youth and welfare sectors, their services and systems and working relationships within these systems.
  • Superior communication skills, including written and verbal presentation skills, diplomatic and effective liaison and interpersonal skills.
  • Current NSW drivers licence.

Writer – Grants and Submissions 12 months Fixed Term Contract

This is a critical role where you will be supporting our young people through your ability to write winning submissions and develop key funding relationships between YOTS and Government agencies.

You will also provide invaluable training to our staff, assisting them to develop their writing skills. You will work closely with our services to help match their needs with funding opportunities.   You will then continue to support the ongoing relationship, reporting requirements and budgeting needs.

You will have accountability for:

  • Researching and writing successful funding submissions
  • The development of relationships with funding bodies
  • Ensuring all funding reports are completed on time.
  • Input into building budgets

To be successful you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or similar field
  • Years spent in a similar role, ideally in the Not for profit sector
  • Substantial experience in preparing funding submissions from start to finish
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines and juggle priorities
  • Preferably an understanding of issues facing marginalized youth
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills and a positive attitude.

Program Coordinator Nulkaba

Just moving to Nulkaba, we are seeking an experienced Program Coordinator for our Residential Service.

Reporting to the Cluster Manager, you will be the first point of contact where you will efficiently and effectively run the administrative functions and provide assistance to all staff.

You will be required to:

  • Maintain appropriate referral statistics, administrative records and reports.
  • Assist in planning,  organising activities  and supporting the young people
  • Coordination, daily running of the house, including maintenance, food ordering, petty cash preparation
  • Working with and supervising staff, including providing support, debriefing, rostering and conducting regular supervision with youth work staff.
  • To be part of the ‘On Call’ system, providing after hours support to the program

You will have gained experience in dealing with complex youth issues, familiar with the function of the Office for Children; the Children’s Guardian and child protection issues.

Additionally you will have developed skills in managing staff from recruitment to supervision to correcting performance.

Donor Relations Coordinator

We are seeking a Donor Relations Coordinator to ensure the continued success of the services we provide to our young people through your ability to coordinate and leverage philanthropic contributions.

You will drive donor satisfaction, retention, and growth from your existing/established networks and your knowledge of developing trends in philanthropy across personal and institutional high net worth relationships

You will ensure donor satisfaction, quality and timeliness of bequest/client relationship management and have significant experience managing a fundraising function in previous NGO/professional capacity.

You will be primarily responsible for developing a strategic plan for creating and/or expanding diversified revenue streams from donors, then identify opportunities, prospective individuals and other donors, and implement targeted strategies for each opportunity ·

You’re a highly strategic and dynamic individual, a sophisticated communicator who is able to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders and have a proven track record of meeting fundraising goals.  A proven innovator, motivated by the opportunity to be part of a constantly changing organization, able to set strategic priorities, and identify new development opportunities.

You will need a minimum of 5 years experience supported by relevant qualifications and knowledge of the Raisers Edge data base system.

This is a new role! It will require you to set up systems, practices, databases, build reports as well as manage the administration.

Program Coordinator – 6 months fixed term contract

Our Dunlea program aims to address problematic substance abuse in youth aged between 13 and 19. We employ qualified staff and techniques to provide the care and support young people need to change their lives.

Reporting to the Cluster Manager, you will be the first point of contact for all enquiries to Dunlea, where you will efficiently and effectively run the administrative functions and provide management supervision to staff.

You will be required to:-

  • Maintain appropriate referral statistics, administrative records, reports and program evaluation.
  • Supervise staff, including providing support, debriefing, rostering and conducting regular supervision.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings
  • Oversee case work delivery.
  • Demonstrate skills in dealing with challenging client behaviour/ making decisions relating to accommodating difficult clients.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Deliver information through the facilitation of structured workshops to client groups.
  • Work with external agencies who support the program.
  • Work towards obtaining accreditation for the program.

You will be qualified with a minimum Cert IV in welfare, or ideally a degree in Behavioural Sciences or Social Work, along with training in AoD.

You will have gained experience in dealing with complex youth issues, familiar with relevant government and non-government agencies.

The Corporate and Government team work closely with supporters from a range of commercial and private organisations as well as all local, state and federal departments to further develop relationships and funding agreements beneficial to YOTS goals and values.

This role leads a team dedicated to ensuring YOTS can continue to provide services to our Clients. You will manage this team.

Reporting into the COO, your strategic relationships will ensure optimal funding and targets, well executed and deliverable submission and tenders.

You are a passionate marketer with a proven track record in business development, account management and staff leadership.

You are a successful relationship builder with the ability to generate new business, no matter whether it’s with Government bodies or Corporate Clients.

You have built up this wealth of experience in similar roles, where you have managed, supported and developed a team. You have excellent presentation and report writing skills and have a strong understanding of the fundraising and not for profit sector.

Records Manager
Part Time Mascot

We are seeking a qualified and highly experienced record keeping manager for a challenging start-up position responsible for the implementation of an organisation-wide record keeping system. This is a part time position (initially 3 day per week), located in Mascot, Sydney.

You must have at least 5 years experience in record keeping with at least 2 years at a management level.

Selection Criteria:-

  1. Tertiary qualification in Information and Records Management, Information Technology or equivalent
  2. Demonstrated experience in project management, especially implementing and managing start-up projects
  3. Demonstrated experience in staff training and/or adult education and/or facilitated learning
  4. High levels of IT literacy and experience in using document management systems and administering data-bases for front end users
  5. In-depth knowledge of the theory and practice of contemporary Record Keeping and Information Technologies
  6. High level oral, writing and inter-personal skills
  7. Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines
  8. Demonstrated understanding of the regulatory environment applying to the human services sector in NSW and all relevant Australian and international record keeping standards
